Description

Letter (15 Feb 1887) from Briton Rivière to [Sir William] Agnew providing him with the address of Mansel Lewis in order to obtain an unnamed painting. Rivière also acknowledges Agnew's "careful regard for my interests" but questions his works 'Argus' and 'Endymion' being given precedence in an exhibition over 'Actaeon' and the '[Miracle of the] Gadarene Swine,' which he feels serve his reputation better.

Rivière adds a postcript to the letter stating that he is to work on the yearly audit of the [Royal] Academy.
