Description

Memorandum (24 Feb 1904) from E. Blakeway of the Manchester works of the firm of Agnew's to D.H. Ogden, enclosing the previous month's stock sheets and 2 dimension papers (not included). Blakeway describes his actions in his new role at the works and the difficulties he faces, stating "It is like driving a dead horse trying to get some of these men to move an inch quicker." He has let go of some "old hands," hopes to hire new staff, or push existing staff to work faster, stating that he expects William Lockett Agnew to receive complaints about him from the workers.
