Description
The agreement between for the sale and purchase of "Venus and Cupid" by Velasquez. The sum of £30,500 was made to Henry Edward Morritt Esquire of Rokeby Yorkshire from Charles Lewis Hind Esquire on 11 Aug 1905. Although Hind was recorded as the official purchaser, the buyer was in fact Thos. Agnew & Sons, from whom the painting was acquired by the National Art Collections Fund (on behalf of The National Gallery, London).
