Re Mr Ambrose's salary. The Treasury letter of 28 May 1897 fixed his wage at £300, but in view of his additional duties such as the preparing the accounts for the Tate, he [Poynter] is advised to recommend a rise to £350. An enclosed note form Poynter states that he is satisfied with this
