At the meeting, the Right Honourable Sir William Gregory in the chair, the
following Regulations were passed; 1) Closing the gallery in autumn should be
abandoned provided a sufficient addition be made to the present staff for the
extra work, as explained in the letter addressed by the Trustees to H.M.
Treasury on 6 Feb 1879; 2) No objection to extending the hours of admission of
the public; 3) Indiscriminate admission of the Public on students days may
damage the collections and cause inconvenience to the students but if H.M.
Government decide that a change in the Rules should be made, the Trustees and
Director will consider and report upon them.
