Description
Explaining that the Director wishes to acquire a number of pictures before the deadline passes for requesting money from the Treasury to do so. As the members of the Board are not in London, the Director cannot submit the pictures for their inspection but hopes that they meet with the Board's approval. The pictures are: 'The Massacre of the Innocents' by Gerolamo Mocetto, 'Christ Preaching in the Temple' by Pedro Campaña, a landscape by Alexander Nasmyth, and a portrait by an unknown Dutch artist
