Responding to his queries concerning the cost of pictures bought for the Gallery but sending him a copy of the 'Parliamentary Return' made in 1860 which contains all the information as well as a copy of the Treasury minute of 1855 and the British School catalogue as requested. It also informs him that the news rooms added to the Gallery were designed by E. Barry and opened in 1876, the full title of the Princess of Denmark by Holbein is 'Christine, daughter of Christian King of Denmark, Duchess of Lorraine and Duchess of Milan'.
