Photograph: The Felton Bequest Tintoretto probably in Room VI (29)
Illustration from the British Australian and New Zealander, 11 Jan 1928. The painting was lent to the National Gallery between 12 Oct and 22 Dec 1927. It was 'agreed that the picture be placed in the Venetian Room' (Board Minutes, Oct 1927). This could have been Room VI (29) or Room VII (32). The exact location is unidentifiable, but it was probably Room VI (29) as between 1923 and 1935 Room VII (32) seems to have been hung with 16th century Venetian paintings. Photograph: Origin uncertain. NG neg. M1366.
