Correspondence between Hendy, National Gallery Trustees and Dr Vitale Bloch (owner) regarding the acquistion of the Giorgione. Copies of Board minutes detailing developments in the acquisition and findings on the condition of the picture. Opinions on the condition of the picture from Trustees. The picture was eventually acquired for the relatively low price of £50,000 due to the damage evident in significant areas of the work.
