Abstract

This article is concerned with the technical examination, cleaning, and restoration of four pictures catalogued by Jacopo Tintoretto in the National Gallery collection. They are: Saint George and the DragonChrist washing the Feet of the DisciplesThe Origin of the Milky Way; and Portrait of Vincenzo Morosini.
