About

Discover our recent acquisition 'The Virgin and Child with Saints Louis and Margaret', currently on display in Room 53 of our Sainsbury Wing, in two different ways. First, listen to a brief talk, then respond by making your own artwork in a short drawing session led by artist Robin-Lee Hall. Please have to hand a sharp pencil, paper and a rubber.

Sometimes we might suggest using different drawing or craft materials, so, if you are able to, please keep a pencil case of different colours, a ruler and a pair of scissors nearby, as well as anything else you might like to experiment with.

The session will take place online and will last about one hour.

This session will be accompanied by live speech-to-text transcription supported by Stagetext.

Your tutor

Robin-Lee Hall is an award-winning egg tempera painter and Past President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Her work has been exhibited in and around London, including the Royal Academy of Arts and the National Portrait Gallery. In 2024 she had a solo exhibition of her egg tempera paintings at the Lightbox Gallery in Woking, Surrey. She is currently writing a book about how to paint in egg tempera.
