The Neo-Impressionists embraced the exciting new colour theories of the 19th century, playing with how we use and perceive colour.
In this Members’ online talk and demonstration, artist and art historian Gayna Pelham delves into the visual effects of colours: combinations, harmonies and contrasts. Dive into the science of how our brains process colour and how colour can affect our energy, mood and even our circadian rhythm.
We will use examples of Neo-Impressionist artworks and give some practical demonstrations of drawing with colour to show how simple exercises can have great effect.
Discover the transformative power of colour and explore how its influence on your body and emotions can shape your daily life and deepen your experience of art.
Please note this session is 1.5 hours.
Speaker
