About

Reflect on ‘Radical Harmony: Helene Kröller-Müller's Neo-Impressionists’ before the exhibition closes.

Art historian Aliki Braine shares her insights on the exhibition and the Neo-Impressionist movement – a radical new style of painting that reflected the changing political ideas of late 19th-century Europe. George Seurat, Paul Signac, Anna Boch, Jan Toorop and Henri-Edmond Cross painted luminous landscapes, portraits and interior scenes, but also the struggles of the working class.

Join Aliki for a final look at these artists and their works and share your own experiences and reflections.

Speaker

Aliki Braine studied at the Ruskin School of Fine Art, Oxford, the Slade School of Fine Art, London and the Courtauld Institute, London, where she was awarded a distinction for her masters in 17th-century painting. Having worked for the National Gallery’s Education Department for 20 years, she is now an Associate Lecturer at Camberwell College of Art and delivers lectures and courses for the Wallace Collection, the Arts Society and Christie’s Education. Aliki is a practising artist who regularly exhibits her photographic work internationally.
