About

During the Renaissance, marriage and love were not always aligned.

Art historian Siân Walters examines themes of courtship, love and marriage in our collection of Renaissance paintings, in this online talk for Members.

Consider the role of art in courtly celebrations and rituals of the 15th and 16th centuries. From mythological poesies representing the illicit affairs of the gods, to paintings designed to decorate wedding furniture, we examine a wide range of works by artists including Andre Mantegna, Titian, Botticelli and Jan van Eyck.

Join Siân for an exploration of love, lust and matrimony through the lens of the Renaissance masters.
