About

Join us for an evening of relaxed, festive performances by Karim Kamar and friends, set in our Sainsbury Wing Foyer.

On this festive occasion, enjoy our new café, ‘Bar Giorgio’, and be captivated as Karim responds to paintings on our digital screen, which showcases the Gallery’s collection in breathtaking detail like never before. After the performances, we invite you to wander through the Gallery rooms and enjoy the paintings up close.

A list of the paintings and rooms will be provided to guide your visit.

Karim Kamar

London-born contemporary-classical pianist and composer Karim Kamar has captivated audiences worldwide, amassing over one million followers across social media, with his mesmerising compositions and arrangements.

Supporting younger musicians is a key part of Karim’s life, as it’s something he felt he personally lacked. Karim inspires young people with his dedication to his craft, his love of learning, and his willingness to help others.

Now an ambassador for the Lang Lang Foundation and artist ambassador for Music Masters, Karim has performed at some of the UK’s most iconic venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, and The Jazz Café. Karim has worked with major productions such as The Crown and Bridgeton and has appeared in the gripping Netflix series One Day.

Alongside award-winning poet Anthony Anaxagorou, Karim co-runs Out-Spoken, an evening of poetry and live music at the Southbank Centre.
