About
Join Deaf lecturer Alan Murray for an introduction to our free exhibition, 'Millet: Life on the Land', which includes some of Millet’s best-loved paintings and drawings.
Born into a farming family in Normandy, Millet moved to the village of Barbizon in 1849, where he put the people who spent their lives working on the land at the heart of his work.
Join Alan Murray as he considers the exhibition themes, paintings and explores the beauty and quiet power of Millet’s work.
This session will be led by a Deaf lecturer in British Sign Language with interpretation in spoken English.
British Sign Language (BSL) talks
Throughout the year, free talks are given in BSL by Deaf presenters or in spoken English with BSL interpretation.
Alan Murray
Alan Murray MBE, a Deaf BSL user, is a trainer and consultant with a deep, lifelong interest in arts, culture, history and heritage. This interest, coupled with his strong belief that the arts should be accessible for all, is what fuels Murray’s passion for delivering culturally rich guided tours and talks in BSL; breaking down barriers and opening up the arts to the Deaf BSL-using community across London.
