About

Patrick Lindsay, a former picture restorer at the National Gallery, left a legacy in 2012 to establish a Conservation Fellowship at the Gallery. He wished to provide vital training opportunities for young conservators in the place where his own career began.

This Legacy Awareness Month, join our current Patrick Lindsay Conservation Fellow, Valeriia Kravchenko, and Gallery Educator Fiona Alderton, as they explore Francisco de Zurbarán’s Saint Margaret of Antioch. They will also discuss Valeriia’s restoration of Zurbarán’s works in preparation for our 2026 exhibition, 'Zurbarán', made possible thanks to Mr Lindsay’s legacy.

Valeriia Kravchenko

Valeriia Kravchenko is our Patrick Lindsay Conservation Fellow. Having worked at private conservation studios and public collections across the UK and Ukraine, Valeriia brings a wealth of experience to restoring the works in the National Gallery Collection.
