About

From Gainsborough’s elegant portraits of high society to Turner’s visionary landscapes, British art came of age in the late 18th and 19th centuries. At a time of rapid change in society shaped by empire, trade and enlightenment, innovative artists created a distinct school of British art. This tour looks at the wonderful rehang of paintings by British artists from Rococo to Romanticism.
