200 Creators open call

Building a network of digital creators

Our 200 Creators Network open call is now live

After the success of last year’s 200 Creators programme, we are back for another year. This year, we’re looking for 50 digital creators to join our 200 Creators Network and help us celebrate the National Gallery’s collection and our new rehang, ‘C C Land: The Wonder of Art’.

Being part of 200 Creators Network will give you the opportunity to meet National Gallery staff, see behind-the-scenes activity and visit out-of-hours to explore the Gallery’s collection of some of the world’s greatest paintings. We want you to be inspired and to create and share content with your online communities.

There will also be the chance to join workshops with social media platforms, connect with partner museums and galleries across the UK, and there will be 4 paid opportunities to work with the Gallery throughout the year.

Application process

Applications for the 200 Creators Network open on Monday 11 August 2025 and will close on 31 August 2025 at 23.59 BST.

Interested applicants should submit an expression of interest. A panel of Gallery experts will select a shortlist of 50 creators from the applicants, forming this year’s 200 Creators Network for 2025/2026.

Selected creators will be invited to a launch party out-of-hours at the Gallery on 27 October 2025 as well as events, exclusive exhibition previews and workshops throughout the year.

For this year, we are selecting 50 new creators to join our 200 Creators Network. Unlike last year, we won’t have a separate group of ‘Creative Collaborators’. Instead, there will be 4 opportunities throughout the year to work with the Gallery on a paid basis to create content related to the Gallery and our collection. The 50 creators who join the Network will have access to exclusive events in the Gallery and with our partner museums across the country. There will also be opportunities to come into the Gallery out-of-hours to film content too.

This year, we aren’t offering National Gallery Memberships to our Creator Network. However, we will be expanding the events we are putting on for our creators including opportunities to come into the Gallery out-of-hours, exclusive events to see our exhibitions before they open and the opportunity to visit and create connections with our partner museums across the UK.

We are now looking for new creators to join our Network so it won’t be possible to apply again. However, this is not the end of our relationship with you! We will still be inviting the first year’s ‘alumni’ of the Network to specific events at the Gallery and there will be 150 spaces to join the next 200 Creators Network Launch Event in October (allocated on a first come, first served basis).

You will need to complete and submit an Expression of Interest form in order to make an application. Please make sure you have read and accepted the project terms and conditions before submitting your application.

If you would like to, please also complete our optional equality, diversity and inclusion form in addition to your application.

The deadline to submit your interest is Sunday 31 August (23:59 BST).

Due to the volume of applications, we are unable to provide feedback on individual submissions. If you have practical or access-related questions on the application process, we can help you by email and telephone. Please contact us via 200creators@nationalgallery.org.uk.

We are looking for individual creators for this project. However, if you run a social media account as a joint venture we will consider applications on a case-by-case basis.

Yes, please contact us via 200creators@nationalgallery.org.uk to discuss and agree an alternative format for your application.

Applicants must be based in the UK.

Yes, applicants must be 18 years and over.

Expressions of Interest will be assessed and scored by a team from the National Gallery based on the selection criteria outlined in the call-out. The applicants with the highest scores (maximum 50 applicants) will be selected for the Network.

Creators selected to be a part of the Network will be informed during w/c 22 September 2025.

We are working with a content creator agency, Fetch Friends, to onboard all of our creators. One of the team from Fetch will contact you via email with further information, if you are successful.

A set of Network membership terms will be shared with creators invited to join the Network. We would encourage selected creators to sign the terms on an individual basis even if you have an agent.

We are encouraging creators from across the UK to apply to join the 200 Creators Network. To make this possible, we have a limited number of travel bursaries available. Please get in touch if the cost to attend the Launch event on 27 October is prohibitive.

The Launch event is designed for in-person connection, so you can meet us, and we can meet you, and so you can be inspired by visiting the Gallery and exploring the collection. It won’t be possible for us to offer virtual access to this event.

However, throughout the year, where possible, we will look to provide hybrid events so creators are able to join virtually.

While plus-ones are not available for the Launch event, all of our events are held in a relaxed environment and creators have often been able to make new connections with each other at each event.

The selection panel of National Gallery experts will include Amber Akaunu, Video Producer, Lawrence Chiles, Head of Digital Services, Millie Gambold, Communications Executive (Social and Communities), Simon Magill, Senior Marketing Manager and Ellie Wyant, Senior Communications Manager (Social and Communities).

There is no obligation to post content as a member of the Network. However, we hope that over the one-year period, you will feel inspired to post about ten times.

If you are invited to be part of the 200 Creators Network, you must commit to attend the Launch event at the National Gallery in London, on the evening of Monday 27 October 2025.

While we won’t be offering payment to join the 200 Creators Network, we are offering 4 opportunities to create content for the Gallery throughout the year with a fee of £4,000 each. The Gallery will select 4 content creators from the Network for this.

The Gallery’s social media team will be working on various projects throughout the year and will look to select creators from the Network that will fit with the aims of the project and the content they would like to create, taking into consideration the creator’s expression of interest form. The social media team will reach out to creators individually to brief and collaborate on the content.

  • You will receive invites to a range of events at the Gallery, including exclusive preview days of all of our exhibitions throughout the year, invites to events happening at partner museums or galleries across the UK and workshops with social media platforms.
  • There will be opportunities to visit the Gallery out-of-hours to create content (subject to availability).
  • As part of the Network, you will also have the opportunity to meet with other creators through our events.
  • You will receive an invitation to attend the 200 Creators launch event on 27 October 2025.

Please contact 200creators@nationalgallery.org.uk if there are valid reasons why you are unable to attend the Launch event.

Members of the 200 Creators Network will be under embargo until the launch event on 27 October 2025.

You can work with other brands/organisations while part of the 200 Creators Network.
