Join us for a screening of the BAFTA nominated ‘The Duellists’ directed by Ridley Scott and adapted from the book 'The Duel' by Joseph Conrad

The film documents the mutual rivalry and long-standing animosity between French soldiers Armand d'Hubert and Gabriel Féraud in a feud that spans across rank, countries, and decades.

Set in the Napoleonic era, the film is an excellent way to be transported into Parisian life. Louis-Leopold Boilly, was one of the most important artists of Revolutionary France.  Working in a politically turbulent Paris, Boilly witnessed the French Revolution, the rise and fall of Napoleon, and the Restoration of the French Monarchy. Boilly: Scenes of Parisian Life opens in Room 1, 28 February – 19 May 2019.
