ZooLab and the National Gallery explore a painting in two different ways

Join us for this special drawing session where you will have the opportunity to draw from a variety of live insects, and hold some of them too if you want to.

We will be investigating the symbolism and significance of these insects in Dutch still life painting and examining their delicate fragility and the beautiful details of their miniature forms by drawing them close-up, with the aid of magnifying lenses.

All materials are provided. Please be aware that there will be live animal handling.
