The Sainsbury Wing, home to the Gallery's Early Renaissance paintings, opened its doors 25 years ago, in 1991.
This conference celebrates the architecture of the Sainsbury Wing and the display of the pre-1500 collections within it, and looks at how it has served to articulate changing perceptions of the Renaissance.
It also considers the Sainsbury Wing within the context of the redisplay of Renaissance art in other museums.
Introduced by the Director of the National Gallery, Gabriele Finaldi, speakers include Susan Foister, Mary Hersov, Peta Motture, Neville Rowley, Luke Syson, and Giles Waterfield.
Supported by the Diane Apostolos-Cappadona Trust
