This series of lunchtime lectures will explore the Renaissance in the North of Europe from van Eyck to Holbein. By engaging directly with works by major artists of the Northern Renaissance, such as Hans Memling, Gerard David, Lucas Cranach the Elder and Hieronymus Bosch, these talks will examine the ideas and influences that made this an extraordinary period in European art history.

Lunchtime talks

Focus in on one painting with our talks in the Gallery, or explore wider themes in the collection at our in-depth theatre talks.
