Inspired by Beyond Caravaggio, Dr Laura Rorato from the University of Hull explores the ever-growing influence of the Lombard painter beyond art history.

She will examine the appropriation of Caravaggio in popular culture, not just in Italy but all over the world. This lecture will focus on literature, film and advertising, and investigate Caravaggio's self-perpetuating myth and his iconic status.
