Guido Cagnacci, whose Repentant Magdalene is the focus of a special exhibition, was one of the most eccentric painters of 17th-century Italy.

This lecture will trace his turbulent life and career by following in his footsteps from his native Romagna to Venice and finally to Vienna.

While working on the exhibition, Xavier F. Salomon visited the cities where the painter lived and worked, and his talk will provide a window into the artist's fascinating world.

Xavier F. Salomon is Peter Jay Sharp Chief Curator, The Frick Collection.
