Nature can be benign and comforting, or hostile and threatening.

Professor Roger Wotton explores these contrasting views of nature in the landscape paintings of Constable and Turner, which reflect the two artists’ different interests and personalities.

Roger Wotton is Emeritus Professor of Biology at UCL and has recently published 'Walking With Gosse: Natural History, Creation and Religious Conflicts'.
