How have artists depicted dazzling city architecture and towering skylines?

Have a go yourself at this drawing workshop with artist Norton Asbury, who will help you create your own drawings based on a mixture of close-looking at paintings, personal interpretation, and invention.

Experiment with drawing techniques including the use of line, tone, texture, and scale, as well as the principles of composition.

The day includes opportunities to draw in a closed-off room in the Gallery.

Beginners are welcome and all materials are provided.

Tutor biography

Norton Asbury teaches a variety of drawing courses at London museums and galleries focusing on various aspects of drawing and art history. He has a first-class degree from the Courtauld Institute of Art where he focused on artists' drawing practices.
