Paris to Venice

Relax and enjoy music inspired by The Credit Suisse Exhibition: Monet & Architecture, at this free concert curated by pianist Sholto Kynoch

The Phoenix Piano Trio is joined by rising star tenor Alessandro Fisher for a programme that explores the music of Gabriel Fauré: Monet’s almost exact contemporary.

Alongside his pioneering piano trio, a work that aligns an architectural precision with a free-sounding unfolding of ideas, we hear a fascination with Venice, shared with Monet, in his 'Cinq poémes de Venise'. Songs by the Italian composer Paolo Tosti, also a resident of London for many years, complete the programme.
