Facebook Live: Lorenzo Lotto Portraits

Thursday, 1 November, 3.30pm (GMT)

This is an online event

Explore our exhibition of Lorenzo Lotto's highly individual and intense portraits before it opens to the public

Join us on Facebook to uncover the symbolism and psychological depth of Lorenzo Lotto’s Renaissance portraits with exhibition curator Matthias Wivel.

Celebrated as one of the greatest portraitists of the Italian Renaissance, Lotto uniquely portrayed a cross section of middle-class sitters, among them clerics, merchants, and humanists. This exhibition – the first of its kind in the UK – provides extraordinary insight into the artist and the people he portrayed.

The broadcast will be shared on the National Gallery’s Facebook  page. The broadcast can be watched live on Facebook, and a replay version will be available on the channel afterwards.
