Handy tips to help us all enjoy the Gallery

Our aim is for all our visitors to have an enjoyable time at the Gallery, so we've put together some tips for how you can contribute towards us achieving that
  • Please always be considerate towards others
  • Help us protect the collection by not touching the paintings or other exhibits, and not crossing the rope barriers
  • You may consume food and drink in designated areas of the Gallery but not in rooms that contain paintings
  • Smoking (including vaping) is not allowed in any part of the building
  • Feel free to take photographs for personal, non-commercial use, but not in exhibitions or where a ‘no photography’ sign is displayed. Click here further information
  • No knives or other potentially dangerous or harmful items may be brought into the Gallery
  • There are restrictions on the size of bags, and on other items, which may be brought into the Gallery or left in our cloakrooms. Click here further information
  • The only animals allowed in the Gallery are guide dogs
  • Visitors who wear offensive slogans or paraphernalia may be refused entry to the Gallery.
