With a generous gift from Mr Christian Levett, we were able to replace the Air Handling Units which supply air to Rooms 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22, in the main building of the Gallery. These rooms contain some of the National Gallery’s most prominent and important Dutch portraits, landscapes, still lifes and French landscapes of the 17th and 18th centuries by artists such as Willem van de Velde, Aelbert Cuyp and Nicolas Poussin.

The new Air Handling Units are crucial in maintaining the humidity in each of these rooms. Not only have we reduced energy consumption and carbon emissions but also ensured the best possible environment for these paintings.
