A live exhibition

Presenting the work of Hetain Patel, Florence Peake, Zadie Xa and Benito Mayor Vallejo
Date

Time
6.30 - 7.40 pm

About

'Dance to the Music of Our Time' explores the relationship of storytelling and contemporary art through the use of movement, dance and choreography.

Taking its title from a painting by Nicolas Poussin and presented alongside the exhibition 'Poussin and the Dance', this programme will look at how artists today use dance to understand historic narratives and mythical stories.

This live exhibition – a series of performances, film screenings and talks – brings together the work of these four contemporary artists working in film, sculpture, painting and textile. The artists re-evaluate methods and traditions of storytelling, drawing on parallels with Poussin’s practice of interpreting and representing myths through his understanding of the moving figure.
