Description
A collection of papers (in envelope) related to the attribution of 'St Mary Magdalene' to Giampietrino, as follows:
[1] The envelope has notes [possibly by John Wickham Flower] regarding the attribution variously to Andrea Solario and Leonardo da Vinci Giampietrino, as well as exhibition details for 1895.
[2] A valuation or price list in French, addressed to [Anthony] Barnaschina, Leather Lane, London, postmarked 1827. The list includes 'Arthemise' attributed to Leonardo da Vinci.
The list is fixed to paper and is heavily damaged and partly illegible.
[3] Three items fixed to paper, as follows:
Letter (12 Jun 1827) in French (with envelope) from M. Tourneisen de Weile[r] to [Anthony] Barnaschina.
Note with Latin inscription and marked Leo[nardo] da Vinci
On the paper is a handwritten note [possibly by John Wickham Flower] relating to an additional work in the National Gallery, 'Christ disputing with the Doctors.'
[4] Envelope (with black seal) marked 'Original [ ] letter as to Picture of Leonardo da Vinci.'
