Description

Cecil Gould began to publish his art historical research after his appointment to the National Gallery, producing works renowned for their methodical approach and scholarly attitude. Whilst many of his more important works are not represented here, there are some interesting and unpublished pieces, and a collection of book and exhibition reviews written by Gould for publications such as Apollo magazine. His last book, on Parmigianino, published after his death, is represented by a set of typed notes for use in communication with the publisher Paul Holberton.
This series contains loose or bound, handwritten or printed pages containing drafts and finished copies of material for publication.
