Letter to Signor Gaetano Savi

Referring to a letter to Lord Granville concerning a picture in the
correspondent’s possession attributed to Correggio together with photographs and
documentation, apologising that he is unable to give a decisive answer to the
correspondent’s offer due to the absence of the Trustees from London. Informing
the correspondent that he may visit Rome and call to inspect the picture, and
forwarding testimonials in case the correspondent enters into negotiations with
others for the sale of the picture. The original signed by Frederick Burton,
Director of the National Gallery.
