Description

Informing him that he [Eastlake] has attended to the matters in NG6/6/812-813; saying he had the da Vinci removed from Repairing Room to the end of the front rooms; mentioning NG6/6/816; arranging the reflooring which will begin on Monday, Dolman's men will get the pictures down from the rooms being refloored, Crace will arrange for cleaning the other rooms; the Office of Works will get the watered patterned paper hanging from Dresden through Crace if not too expensive; asking if Burton has made any application to the Treasury for extra funds for purchasing pictures in Italy, and if not we have only £1,000, having spent £9,000, as the Treasury will be responsible for any excess; Eastlake is not opening any letters addressed to Burton officially.
