Re gift of painting by Caspar Netscher. Explains in previous letter Eastlake presumed the Portrait to represent Admiral Sir William Berkeley, however he was incorrect as Berkeley died in 1666. Offers alternatives, George 1st Earl & 14th Baron Berkley (1628-1698), not described as having entered The Navy, or John 3rd Lord Berkeley of Stratton (1663-1697) described as an Admiral. Requests correspondent to decide, so a label can be written
