Advising of the concern of the Trustees and Director of the Gallery over the draft scheme of The British Institution for promoting the Fine Arts in the United Kingdom regarding their proposal that ‘the capital funds of the institution would be appropriated in the proportion of three fifths to the National Gallery and two fifths to the National Portrait Gallery…’ and reminding them of their bye-laws
