One bound volume containing transcripts of the National Gallery’s outgoing correspondence. All letters were written by Charles Locke Eastlake, 1833-1906, Keeper and Secretary of the National Gallery from 1878 to 1898, apart from those indicated which were written by G.E. Ambrose, Clerk.
Contains an incomplete alphabetical index listing the surname and initials of the recipients of most letters and their page number. Occasional errors in dating have been corrected and noted, when necessary.
