Registry files: Directors' Conference

Group for directors of national and public galleries and museums. The group appears to have had its origins in the D'Auberon Commission, and originally had vague terms of reference. The group appears to have ceased to meet after 1946. The Conference was revived in 1950, as the Directors felt it was important to have a body to represent common interests and concerns to the Treasury.
