The artists of the Italian Baroque painted brilliantly coloured, flowing fabrics to accentuate movement and to heighten emotional response.

You will first take inspiration from the works of Caravaggio, Carracci, Guercino and Reni in the Gallery by drawing directly from the paintings, and then you will develop a draped sculptural form back in the studio.

Al Johnson

Sculptor Al Johnson creates works in thematic series, utilising a range of contrasting materials to make sculptures that are sensual, paradoxical and challenging. Her work is widely exhibited and is held in both public and private collections. In addition to her studio practice, she lectures and leads workshops in major museums and galleries including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Royal Collection, the National Portrait Gallery, and the British Museum.
