Pollaiuolo and Action
Putting energy and tension into the figure in action.
Karly Allen
Karly trained in drawing at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art (University of Oxford), where her work was centred on the experience of the life room. She received an MA in Art History from the University of London, having studied works on paper including Japanese ink painting and drawings from the Arab world.
In her own teaching and research, Karly has a particular interest in the history of drawing practice and materials, as a context for looking at Old Master paintings. She was formerly Adult Learning Officer at the National Gallery and Education Manager at the Royal Collection, Buckingham Palace.
Sunday Life Drawing
Join us on Sunday mornings for these tutored sessions, drawing from the nude model.
Explore a different theme each session and experiment with a range of materials to consider how artists have drawn from the human figure.
No experience necessary – just come with enthusiasm to draw in this unique setting.
