Course objectives

The objectives of the course are to:

• Facilitate experiential learning and critical reflection around the pedagogy and practice of using paintings to stimulate talk and writing
• Increase enjoyment of, and access to, National Gallery paintings for teachers, pupils and their families
• Develop teachers and pupils as oral storytellers
• Increase the quality and quantity of children's writing
• Facilitate dialogue between teachers which hones, refreshes and builds innovative practice
