Federico Barocci, like all Renaissance artists, was in the habit of borrowing details and above all poses from his great precursors. He was also particularly ingenious when it came to recycling elements from his own earlier artistic production for new paintings.

This lecture will explore both what Barocci borrowed – whether from others or from himself – and how he used it to make new and original works of art.
