Leonardo da Vinci has long been famous as the consummate Renaissance genius. But how can this title be understood in relation to his art?
Through a consideration of the artist's paintings, drawings and writings, this talk examines Leonardo's artistic output in relation to contemporary artistic practices in Florence in order to assess the nature of his contribution to the development of Renaissance art.
The first lunchtime talk by Caroline Brooke in this series – Legend, Myth and Leonardo da Vinci: Birth of a Genius – takes place on Monday 15 April.
