Painting, Patrons and Pastorals: The Art and Influence of Claude Lorrain

This three-week course will examine the work of Claude Lorrain in context and in history, from his own career and production in 17th-century Rome – and the development of ideal landscape painting – to the interest in and influence of his work in Britain in the long 18th-century.
