Rubens' 'The Watering Place'

Abstract
A detailed examination of The Watering Place during treatment revealed that the support consists of 11 separate pieces of wood. The successive stages in its physical construction were established and as a result, some identification of the stages of Rubens' creation of his landscape emerge.
