1. What research facilities are available for the public at the National Gallery?
The National Gallery runs an extensive education programme that includes free daily tours and lectures, which often focus on specific artists or paintings. There are also regular special lectures, study days and mornings and short courses.
The Gallery Audio Guide is a portable audio guide that has commentaries on over 1,000 of the paintings in the permanent collection.
The National Gallery Shop stocks an extensive range of art books as well as the full range of National Gallery publications. You can also find postcards of paintings in the collection. For specially made photographs contact the Picture Library.
