2. Why charge for exhibitions that are sponsored? We are very grateful to our sponsors for providing the financial support necessary to allow the National Gallery to put on major loan exhibitions. However, even this generous sponsorship is not enough to cover all the Gallery's costs such as staff overheads, security and building utilities. Any revenue raised from the sale of admission tickets feeds back into Gallery funds to cover these overheads, and to support the Gallery's core services and free admission to the permanent collection. |
