Salomon van Ruysdael: 'A View of Deventer seen from the North-West'

This view shows Deventer (Province of Overijssel) in the distance across the river IJssel. On the left is the Noordenbergtoren, the double-spired Bergh Kerk, and on the right, the Grote Kerk, with the Maria Kerk in front of it and the 'Vispoort' to its right. The view is not topographically exact. On the right Dutch sailing vessels navigate the river, while on the left five men in two rowing boats draw up a net. Behind them cattle are drinking at the water's edge.

There are two other views of Deventer by van Ruysdael, but their whereabouts is unknown.
